Description

Beautiful original artwork piece for the card series by Skybox in 1996 depicting a scene from the Batcave, created as a background for Card #10 "Lair of the Dark Knight" in the Batman Holo Series set, rendered in ink and white paint over graphite on DC trading card Bristol board with an image area of 7" x 9". Basic handling wear but in overall very good condition.
Illustrated by Eduardo Barreto, known well for his work, in particular with DC and lovingly was known as the “Uruguayan Batman artist” by his adoring and proud fans in Uruguay. Unfortunately, Barreto passed away in 2011 and at the time was given this tribute by famed artist, Jim Lee:

A mainstay of DC Comics, he was one of the key artists during the 1980s who not only helped define the look and feel of the DC Universe but got me hooked on the Teen Titans. His incredible work and vision will be missed.”
