DescriptionWolverine ABC's back cover + Joe The BarbarianArt by Sean Gordon Murphy (2010) Happy Tres Reyes! I was first introduced to Sean's work on DeviantArt days with his "Wolverine ABC's" posts. Sean would periodically post a new piece featuring Wolverine and related characters beautifully inked, colored and positioned as a letter of the alphabet. At the end Sean collected all 26 pieces in a small, softcover book. Sean printed around 200 of these books in 2010 primarily to give to editors and industry friends and sold the remaining 40 copies to a few lucky fans at conventions. I was lucky enough to be one of those lucky fans. I've admired this piece in Jonathan's collection for many years and I'm thrilled to reunite this with the cover art for the Wolverine ABC book (seen HERE). It was also great to see the four additional drawings on the board were used and published in the picture frames in Joe the Barbarian #5 on page 7. Images below. Here we have Logan doing his best Mr. Rogers impression. It's fun to think that Wolverine actually be came a teacher a year or so after this was put out. Social/Sharing |

Reunited and it feels so good.....Such a fun image when you see the published version. The rest of the art on the board is such a great bonus. Especially after some eagle eyed detective work resulting in a large number of additional images yet again! :) Congrats on a fantastic bookend to the first piece!
