I had the honor of previously owning a gorgeous painted Hellboy piece but was always looking for one that was closer in style to my favorite period of Mike's work. Thank god for David Mandel buying an X-Wing and releasing some of his previously held pieces through Heritage. This piece features Hellboy holding "Mjolnir" amidst the titular skulls, skeletons, and bones of giants. The colors here are nothing short of spectacular and when I saw it, I knew this was THE Hellyboy painted piece that I was waiting for. It hangs proudly in my office : )

It's rare early painted work by Mignola and has the more bold and striking colors and lighting fighting to break through the darkness.

Epic piece from Mignola! Such an outstanding use of light source and I love that we can see his tail. Coupled with the stunning frame job this is an absolute banger! Congrats!

Great lighting makes the colours shine, and makes you leap with fright at the pale skeleton emerging from behind. Nicely executed!
