Was very happy to win this page in a recent Hakes auction. This issue was from the first few months of my comic collecting and it stands out in my memory. I'd remembered that fourth panel with Brain Storm blasting Superman and the cool "after images" emphasizing the impact and motion fifty years after my originally seeing it. This must have been one of the issues I especially read over and over... although Brain Storm didn't end up being the ongoing threat of villainy that I thought he would be at that time. Somehow that helmet and extended vest no longer seems as cool and threatening as it did when I was nine years old....

Goofy and charming as this mid 70's Superman battle page is by two of the best DC house artists of the time! Brain Storm's design looks like he was held over from the 60's, but the Blaisdell inks pulled him into contemporary times.
