Description

Sylvaine ruminates as she prepares for bed:

“Radu gives me the shivers. What did he mean? Maybe the Romanian janitors are not trustworthy and steal from the rooms? I can't keep my eyes open. I won't be able to wait up for Brand any longer. He'll have to knock hard to get me to open the door.”

Once again, Countess Báthory stares at Sylvaine from her mirror. Meanwhile, Kurjak and Nina discuss the chilling dungeon tour which just concluded:

“It was horrible, and yet some people liked it. After all, if they plan to make money with this stuff, there must be an audience.”

“Hmm…”

“I thought we'd see actors in cloaks and with fake fangs, accompanied at most by a spine-chilling soundtrack, like in the 'horror houses' of amusement parks. But there was no soundtrack; there was no need for it. How did they do all this, Emil? Maybe the tricks couldn't be seen in the dark.”

“Or maybe they weren't tricks.”

“What? You mean… they were real monsters?”

“Um! Most of those creatures are legendary, at least I think they were. Harlan is the expert, not me, and he's the one who needs to figure out if there's a real Master of Night behind all this, or if we're making a huge mistake. In that case I'd be relieved, though I'd feel more like an idiot than ever. He and Tesla should have gotten into the castle by now. Maybe they've encountered obstacles. I have to go look for them.”

“And you're leaving me here alone? I wanted to ask you if… if you would keep me company tonight.’

“Everything will be fine, you'll see. Lock the door… and if someone knocks, look through the keyhole first.’

Speaking of magic, Nina's décolletage becomes much more exposed between the bottom of page 112 and the top of page 113 when she makes her move on Kurjak. Instead of a T-shirt, she's now wearing a long-sleeved blouse with a deep V-neck and a ribbon stitched into the trim and tied with a bow. She hasn't changed into her pajamas, since she's wearing a huge belt, much wider than the one seen on previous pages. Just one of those things that happens in Dracula Park, I suppose.

Notice also the casual indoor smoking, with an ashtray in the hotel room. Kurjak holds his cigarette Eastern European-style, pointing down between thumb and index finger. He must have changed from his white T-shirt into this black turtleneck to freshen up between scenes, before exploring the castle.

That's a chastity belt or her WWE Championship belt.  I'm surprised we haven't had a open border panel at all in these pages as if to tell us something about the confines of this park.

There is a lot of eye candy to look at on these 2 pages between Sylvaine and Nina yet the panel that holds my attention the most is that exterior shot in panel 6 on page 112 - fantastic inks and vibe in general!
