Description

Happy to have a piece by the legendary Michael Whelan in the collection again! Whelan created this piece as the cover image for “ The Year's Best Horror Stories, Series IX”, edited by Karl Edward Wagner and published by DAW in 1981. It was also used for the German language book “Das Stonehenge-Monster“ by Henry Wolf, published by Bastei in 1983. It appeared in Whelan’s art book, “Something in My Eye”, published by Mark V. Ziesing in 1996. Finally, it was included in the Other Worlds collection card set, published by Comic Images in 1995 (card #87).

I like the signature carved into the stone! The skies break just enough for that glow right above the werewolf's head!
