Dampyr Speciale #1 (2008) pages 168-169: Group hug

Gabor Vlatna reveals himself and uses his terrible power directly, to paralyze our heroes:

“But all it takes is one well-placed bullet from me to… Uhh! What (cough) is happening to me?”

“The Jiang-Shi poison is working inside you, poor man. My mind wills it so.”

“Aaah…”

(Tesla)“Harlan! I can't move.”

(Harlan's knife sails harmlessly through the projection of Vlatna.) “Ha ha ha! You are in my power. Your will is now mine.”

“Kurjak! Tesla! Don't look him in the eye! I am not a slave to your tricks, Vlatna!”

“Ha ha ha! Kill the Dampyr, Countess!”

(Countess Báthory cuts his hand.) “Die!”

“A Countess, no less. What an honor! But I am no gentleman." (Harlan fries Countess Báthory with his Dampyr-blood-soaked hands.) "Kurjak! Tesla! Huddle close to me! It's all a bluff! Look through my eyes! This is the true face of Count Vlatna!”

“Dampyr! Damn you! My castle will be your tomb!”

Harlan's Dampyr sight can penetrate the illusions of a Master of Night, and he shares that ability with anyone touching him. Vlatna has been reduced to a collection of random body parts, the only bits of the vampire lord to survive the previous battle in Dampyr #20.
