After wrapping up with Manix during the Sunday Free Sketching session, I went around the corner to behind his table but still within the Next Comic Art setup to get on line for Mico Suayan.

After a little bit of a wait (but not too bad) it was my turn for Mico to tackle a free sketch card drawing. Since Manix went with Daredevil, I had Mico do an Elektra on the other blank sketch card I had. In hindsight I could've been way more greedy as there was time to get up to maybe 6 or 7 free sketches during the allotted time, but I limited myself to the 2 included sketch cards in my swag bag for VIP and that was that.

It was interesting to watch Mico work (also captured video of this one, but will include a pic of him with the completed card in additional images) on a smaller and quicker scaled piece, as I had only ever seen his highly rendered and detailed hyper realistic (yet stylized at the same time) published cover work in person previously.

I like how this Elektra "bust" turned out, also think that Mico has one of the nicest looking signatures in the game!

One day I'll get one of his incredible published cover pieces, but this sits nicely in my Elektra series of pieces. Thanks again Mico and Jiggy and CAF for the free sketching event opportunity.
