19" � 13" ink and gouache

What's this? A commissi9n that isn't an X-Man? Well, bear in mind that ol' Vic is one in a long line of villains smitten with one Ms. Ororo Munroe. So I'm willing to count it.

Like almost anyone else, I've loved Travis's art forever. It didn't look like I'd ever make it to one of the high falutin' art shows he normally attends (can you feel the jealousy?) Finally, my prayers were answered and he took a commission list shortly after I sent an inquiry through his website. It took 28 months for him to finally get to me, commission number schfifty-five. I talked to a lot of people about who I should ask for. I wanted someone with a costume that was more than spandex, so Travis could flex his drawing muscles. Shortly before I had to make a decision, two things happened: I saw a social media post of Mike Zeck's legendary Secret Wars #10 cover, and the trailer for the FF movie dropped. I gave Travis a short list of options. He said he'd never drawn Doom for anyone other than a few head sketches. That sealed the deal, as far as I was concerned.

So great! It stretches Travis Charest's skills to show the textures of flowing fabric, solid iron, and the murky dark magical shadows!
