DescriptionBefore I continue on with the Rek-Rap story from Amazing Spider-Man #38, I have some non-Rek-Rap pages to post from issues 36 and 37.On this one, Luke Cage & Spidey & The Goblin Queen discuss the tensions currently being created in NYC by Rek-Rap and the Insidious Six as they have a meeting in her Limbo Embassy office. That's right, Limbo now has an embassy. Which is another bone of contention as far as Luke is concerned. Madyline assures Luke and Spidey that she is handling the problem of all the wayward demons left behind after Chasm's (Ben Reilly's) invasion. She has a special "agent" ... who later turns out to be the monster Re-Po ... who is running around the city eating up the members of the Insidious Six, and who is also gunning for Rek-Rap. Later in this issue, Spidey and Rek-Rap confront and battle Re-Po. They both escape being eaten ... for now. Social/Sharing |

that city scape architecture on the left side of page 4 is just so damn beautiful, almost as beautiful as Goblin Queen...almost! Great to see Spidey interact with her and Luke Cage on these sequential pages!

Nice sequence, packed with bold, dynamic character work and avery interesting panel structure. Spidey and Luke Cage make for a striking contrast against the eerie presence of the Goblin Queen, who I've never seen in a human setting before. With the Insidious Six and Rek-Rap stirring up chaos, this meeting feels like the calm before a storm, which I'm sure is about to get even wilder with Re-Po on the loose!

I like the establishing shot to show the old world part of the city where this supernatural embassy could exist. Luke and Spidey are musclebound as ususal for McGuiness and Farmer, but they really make the Goblin Queen have a dark and sultry look.
