Description
Hollow Press (2021) - Beyond the Branched Castle, further branches will occur-Guro manga artist Shintaro Kago's surreal architecture fractures reality, an impossible cityscape endlessly multiplying in grotesque, hypnotic precision.

Over the past year I have been trying to ‘branch’ out and pick up some more eclectic pieces that might not really go with the bulk of my collection. I have occasionally picked up a piece here or there that had some nice architecture (like a haunted house) or maybe a piece with Asian themes. When I saw this one, I was just so fascinated by it and knew I should probably try and get it. I have not read the book, which isn’t unusual as that has never been a prerequisite for me to make an art purchase. I have to admit though, I would like to get a copy, in part to know what is going on, but more so to see if the other images are as unique as this.

Additional: Since I do not speak/read Japanese I contacted a friend that does. Here are his comments on the text from the page: It’s talking about castles divergences. One castle juncture and another one juncture again. It’s like blood runs through veins that have infinite possibilities in your life.

this is insane (good insane), i can't imagine sitting there and putting all of this to paper with that level of precision like you mentioned, wow. cool to see the branching out pieces such as this which are differentiated from the norm we see on CAF.

It's like train tracks or paths that diverge to symbolize how we grow as people.  A good foundation would yield higher achievement.

Very cool.  Shintaro is a force of nature.

Love the detail that went into this page. The way his mind works is something else.
