            Black Lake cover comps by Bruce Timm. I bought these about 25 years ago. Bruce was drawing covers for a series of Hardboiled publications. On the left, we see a gunman with a woman hostage. On the right, a woman is underwater with her hands bound together. I think she might have been lowered in since her arms are above her head. The published novel had two covers. One shows a gunman firing towards the viewer. The other shows a woman swimming. John Fleskes published Naughty and Nice: The Good Girl Art of Bruce Timm which features a mix of pinups, horror, crime, and science fiction illustrations. He has material for three upcoming books. The first collection will feature horror as noted in this January 2025 blog post.
