World War Hulks # 24 Variant Cover By Dale Keown

There's nothing like it!  Keown makes it so easy for editors with these covers that hit upon the nostalgic and modern look fans wanting to see Hulk characters large and in charge.

It's pretty amazing how his pencils stand out alone without inks being required.  Unfortuantely the days of penciled only original art covers are just about gone.  Most penciled work is done digitally now.  It's kind of sad.

They make exceptions for big names like Keown.

I guess you're right.  But also when I look at how beautiful his pencils are, especially the shading gradations of light and dark greys, inks might just ruin this piece, lol!

Thanks!  It is probably one of my favorites in all my collection.  As nice as this one is, there are others in this forum who own even better examples of Keown's pencil hulks than this. Keown's pencil shadings are some of the best I've seen in the comic industry.

Today, Keown's Hulk pieces are way too expensive for me.  I'm just lucky and grateful I was able to grab this one.  

Fantastic cover...I still miss it today.
