DescriptionI wasn't posting this piece because I just wasn't happy with how my scans/pictures of it were turning out. Nothing seemed to quite capture just how amazingly bonkers and vibrant it is in reality. Yesterday we had some decent light so I tried again and now here we are.Manix did this piece just for fun, after a heavy run of commissions, and it's easy to see how much fun he's having with it. He's faithful to the original Gil Kane layout, but then he can't resist a few embellishments. I say thee more! The splash itself is so memorable that I had trouble remembering which actual storyline it related to. Was it the drug issue? Is he searching for a kidnapped Gwen? Morbius? Finally, the Professor was able to set me straight - it's Doc Ock that on Spidey's mind - thanks Derek! I just can't get enough Manix! And you should see this thing under a blacklight! Wild! Gorgeous and vibrant. Everything that we've come to expect from Manix. I'd love to see someone commission him to recreate a full book and reinterpret it in his own style.

Though this was tossed off for der giggleschitzen, as they say in German, it's still a masterpiece of manic Manix energy and color!

love the choice of source material for inspiration...and the Manix colors always take it to the next level. maybe someone can code a binary color array in a scanning program that actually reflects it properly in a scan by the time we all become one with a universal AI but until that time, good natural lighting photo days for the win!

Manix does it again! This has everything you'd expect from Manix, from the colors, to the lettering, and of course, great renditions of multiple Spider-Man figures!! Awesome!

Colorful Spidey art in the gallery of one whose avatar looks like a caddish version of the web spinner? Wonders will never cease and this is one. This guy can really do justice and more to classics. He always brings his own touches .

Great subject for an homage, and Manix really makes it his own. I don't know how, but it's just more fun. And as always, the color choices here are really impressive.
