Near impossible to get these days.  Jean was hot from the start and it was very hard to get his art even back then.

True, but occasionally you may get lucky and find one on ha.com. One sold fairly recently in late 2022:

I was taking an art class at my local community college just for fun back in the day.  A fellow student introduced me to James Jean's art and I was hooked ever since.  This was back in 2008 or 2009.  I think James won 6 isner awards in a row for best cover artist or something crazy like that.  But you are right.  It's very difficult to get his art today.  It's like you either have to know him personally, or you just have to hope that when you go to one of his art shows, he will have some originals for sale, if they aren't sold out already and if you can afford them.  I bought my James Jean art over 10 years ago.  I don't think I will ever own another piece by him again. lol.  His stuff is way too expensive and hard to find now.  But his prints are everywhere, and even those aren't cheap.
