Move over JC!
I like to think she is carrying two pizza pies as she walks toward me. Hey it's my dream, I can picture what I like.
I'm leaning towards a warm embrace.
You can still hug while carrying pizzas. She is a ninja after all.
Sais matters not ;)
I love these pieces in which the artist is thinking in terms of the negative space. The lush brush work is tops!
Kind of Sienkiewicz-ey
What Elektra would you rather be knocked unconscious by; Jennifer Garner or Elodie Yung?
Negative sais. Great piece, their brush work is always so interesting to look at. Plus cheap is good!
Really love the brush strokes
Thats a beautiful Elektra from Mack! Really like the looseness of the inks, and I see it as she has her sais as just outside the margins of the board!
Vintage sketch by Mack. And great price too? #nguyenning
I find this one really mesmerizing. Nice add!
Tell Elektra
When are we going the sais?
Is this Kabuki,
For nineteen ninety-nine?
All I wanted to do
Was say Elektra in ink
Negative space
I don't mind
Your ninja promised me
I'll need Mack and sais
Gotta get Mack and sai
Yeah, def looks like he's channeling his inner Sienk here!
Nice!
That's very nice!!!
David Mack always does awesome work!
Gorgeous piece Kavi!! I love David Mack!
Great piece, Kavi!
Some artists lay down line after line of meticulous detail and extravagant crosshatching to to bring a character to life, while other artists put down a few lines and stop. Interesting contrast. But I have to admit that an illustration as simple as this still says a lot about the character. I admire the simplicity David Mack used here. Interesting that he uses a black background to delineate Elektra's head plus a few lines for her facial features but when he draws her arms, he simply draws the cloth strips she wears around her arms and nothing else. It's kinda awesome. BTW, I gotta add I love Mack's signature. Fascinating pick-up, congrats!
Wicked! This just screams Mack and the use of negative space with the outfit is soft but elequent. Congrats Kavi!
Nice vintage sketch by Mack! I don't beleive he sketches at conventions anymore so this could be quite rare.
