This page belongs is this gallery because Jackson Guice was a Nick Cardy fan !!!

In the bottom panels, you'll the Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner. I don't know that much about the character. But when I first saw this page for sale by Dave Karlen, the Nick Cardy fan club t-shirt jumped out at me.

At the 1996 Heroes Con, I first met Nick and I stopped by Guice's table. I really didn't have much to say but what I remember most was he was telling someone that he borrowed a stack of Lady Luck stats from Nick.

After receiving my Black Canary & Green Arrow commission, I had a couple short e-mail exchanges with Butch. I told him that I had this page. He wrote back:

Nick was such a great guy.

I feel extremely blessed to have gotten the opportunity to get to know him a bit through my time at CrossGen. I could have talked to him endlessly -- as he is one of my favorite artists from when I was a kid collecting comics and dreaming of drawing them some day myself. Loved his Teen Titan work in particular.

Your collection of his work is great -- and it gives me real delight to know you have
that JLA Classified page.

I hope Nick and Butch can have those talks now.
