Prez cover rough (Ben Caldwell)

Prez is one of those books I read in the 2010s that had cool art and a fun premise- a teenage girl who's known for social media notoriety somehow gets elected President of the United States (stranger things have happened...), and then political satire ensues.  It's also the book that really introduced me to Ben Caldwell's art.  And I've recently been paying more attention to his art because of his faux retro covers, Savage Land characters, and painted commissions.

In a recent livestream, Ben had a bunch of Prez pieces available for sale, many of which were studies and roughs for a cover to the new Prez hardcover.  This piece featured two layouts, neither of which were used for the final cover; but what stood out was the image on the left side that homages the famous Uncle Sam "I Want You" recruiting poster.  Even as a rough, I feel like it captures Beth's attitude well, and I'm glad to finally have a cool piece of Prez art.
