Enemy Ace with Warplane by Pratt

A major piece in the collection!  This is a cornerstone for any war art collector!  It's methodically done like an art director of a hollywood production.

George is such an experimentor and excells at any medium he picks up. He was the the person who introducted me to Battaglia's work when I was a student back in 2000 and we were corresponding via email. So now living in Europe I often see work that never makes it to the US. When that book came out on Battaglia a few years ago in conjunction with an art show of Battaglia's work it Italy I sent George some pics. It was completing the art circle so to speak, and I was thrilled to see him introduce that cotton ball effect into his work. This piece is a perfect exammple of that technique. Congrats on such a stunner.

An amazing protrait of Herr von Hammer! The texture of the piece brings an image of a grainy old daguerreotype to mind.

Made my top 10 list for Best Of.  Killer piece!  Incredible.  Looks like a photo untill you zoom in and all the random textures fill your eye sight. 

Great story of the cotton ball and inks. (I think my brother has used that technique in some of his work.) A proud and confident pose and great line work. Nice commission!
