Description

The second volume of Barbarella's adventures, Les col�res du Mange-Minutes, came out in 1974 with colors by Manuela Dopilar.
When the album was to be reissued by Dargaud in 1985, Jean-Claude Forest partially redrew it and had it recolored by his then partner Danie Dubos. This is Dubos' hand-colored blueline art for page 40 of the 1985 book.
Compare with the original coloring of page 44 in the 1974 first print.

For a fantastical work such as Barbarella, the exotic beauty demands just as striking an environment. This opened the color palette of the 80's which had advanced since this story was first done.
