Description

Beppo the Super-Monkey by Karl Kerschl

Beppo was a monkey on the planet Krypton who Jor-El used for testing the rocket that would eventually transport baby Kal-El to Earth. Well, when the rocket was eventually launched, Beppo stowed away on it and he also arrived on Earth to gain powers just like any other Kryptonian! Eventually he met Krypto, Streaky and Comet, and joined with them to form the Legion of Super-Pets. Karl Kerschl likes to draw animals, so when I got the opportunity to get another commission from him as a reward for supporting his latest Death Transit Tanager Kickstarter, I picked everyone's favorite simian Super-Pet! Karl delivered a gorgeous commission here, with Beppo looking like he's having a ton of fun! I love the look on Beppo's face! Thanks, Karl!

I'm not sure they ever made Beppo have this much facial expressiveness during his silver age appearances. He's got that classic costume though with how the cape is tied around his neck and the looseness of his shirt.
