Ray Lago - The Bride Of Frankenstein

Drawn for me at the Garden State Trading Card Show, Secaucus, NJ, Saturday, May 24th, 2025.

I'd asked Ray at a show last year if he'd be able to draw a Bride sketchcard but he wasn't able to get to it; he doesn't usually draw much at shows (I was lucky enough to have him draw a Baron Karza sketchcard at a local show a couple of years ago). He said 'he'll see' about getting to the Bride today. He still had the sketchcard and reference I gave him last year. I chatted with Dave DeVries a while then left the show for a time and came back later. Chatting with Dave again, Ray called me over. He had drawn the Bride!

But it was on a scrap sheet of bristol paper (9.5" x 3" with the image of The Bride the size of a sketchcard (2.5" x 3.5".) It was a sketch he had started a while back for himself, just doodling and decided to finish for me today. He said it was a gift and would eventually get to the more finished sketchcard commission.

I think it's absolutely beautiful. What a nice gesture.
