Description

Another beautiful painting done for me by Lucas Troya helping me to remember my Golden Age of comics and my love of the 1970s Avengers. Done in oils on aluminum board and at a huge 18x24 inches to match the rest of the set this amazing commission brings to life the splash page from my very first Avengers comic off the spinner rack. I actually bought 147 and 148 on the same day…but you get it. I must have read this story 300 times in my life and this image has definitely been burned into my brain. I was fortunate enough to own the original art for this splash for many years and I am happy it now resides in the collection of my friend Steve. Having the image back on my wall is priceless to me. Thanks Lucas!

Great high class painted version! It feels like it's aimed to a mature audience who can see comics as high art.

Lucas really captured that memorable moment well. This is one of my favorite Avengers splashes too. I'm glad you have a beautiful rendition of it for your collection!
