Description
GI Joe #64 was the second GI Joe comics that I read as a kid (#57 was the first issue I ever read). I read it around the peak of my Cobra toy collecting days. Serpentor was my favorite GI Joe figure though I got the toy even before I watched the cartoon or read the comics. So when I read this issue, I asked myself why is Serpentor so mean and why is the Baroness so nice (unlike in the cartoon)? And what the hell is happening to Cobra Commander in his new funky armor?

As a side story, a week after OAX, I had to fly to Nashville, TN for work. After a long day of meetings, at my hotel room, I was finally able to scroll through the stuff that got posted on CAF that day, and I found that this cover had sold off Glen Brunswick’s site in less than a day! Gosh I thought — what a beauty, and I had no chance! Through some divine intervention, this becomes available for sale a few months later, and I was able to make a deal (many thanks to David). I'm very grateful and humbled to be the current caretaker of this piece. Please enjoy looking at it.

It's always a thrill to be able to acquire pieces that have a lot of personal meaning, so it's great to see you acquired this piece, Michael. Congratulations, now all you need to do is acquire the cover to #57!

Nice cover!  Joes were a big part of life as an 80's kid!  Three faces of Cobra here!  I guess having Destro as part of the threesome would have been weird.

Fantastic GI Joe cover from Ron Wagner and Bob McLeod! So cool that it's from one of the first books you read as a kid--Now THAT'S nostalgia! Very cool face-off between Serpentor, the Baroness and Cobra Commander! Reminiscent of old boxing posters where they would show the side shots of two boxers in a faceoff (Mohammed Ali and Joe Frasier for instance). Gorgeous art by Ron and Bob--They don't get nearly the credit or attention they deserve for the fantastic art they delivered! Great pick-up, congrats!
