Clad in chains and ghostly blue-green hues, Goofy appears as the bumbling spirit of Jacob Marley, delivering a warning to a very skeptical Scrooge McDuck in this original hand-painted animation cel from Mickey’s Christmas Carol. A playful yet faithful retelling of the Dickens classic, the film cast beloved Disney characters in iconic Victorian roles—none more perfect than Goofy as the well-meaning but clumsy ghost. This cel captures the moment’s comedic tension with expressive animation and rich color, and includes the official Disney seal at lower left.
