Great mystery sketch piece! I like Jason's illustrations/work but more used to seeing color, this is really nice in black and white.
My favorite part is the nod to the birch trees Bill used in the original story.

Wow! Gorgeous Mystery Sketch illustration by Jason Crager. I don't know Jason's work, but by the look of this gorgeous sketch, I can see I've got to check him out. IMHO, this is a stunning drawing of the Demon Bear that first appeared in New Mutants. I love the power and majesty that the bear projects. I also love the the crazed look in his eyes--That takes me back to the original story! And Jason's portrayal of Magik is right on as well. She's startled, certainly, but she's standing firm and holding her ground. Of course, she's also holding her flaming Soul Sword that should be more than capable to take down the Demon Bear. Fantastic pick-up, congrats!
