DescriptionI grew up reading pocket sized reprints of Dick Sprang’s Batman so I consider him to be the definitive Golden Age Batman artist and the artist who defined the look of Batman and Joker longer than any artist who’s worked on the characters with the possible exception of Neal Adams. The bold linework and the beautiful feathering. I’m 99% sure that Charles Burns was the artistic offspring of the Dick Sprang/Charles Paris art team. I was over the moon when I added this oversized Detective Comics cover recreation by Dick Sprang. He pencilled, inked and colored the piece and his work was as bold and crisp as it was in his hey day during the Golden age. Social/Sharing |

1985 is so long ago that you can say this is vintage Dick Sprang artwork as well! I like this solid background for the characters to pop in action poses!
