And, last ups for now, closing out my second round of Ron Frenz commissions, I wanted to see John Byrne’s version of OMAC, but in color! I love both Kirby & Byrne’s OMAC, and Byrne’s choice of B&W for his 4 issue deluxe format was pretty damn cool. And if I remember correctly, Byrne mentioned on his forum that DC was supposed to do a color version as well. Anyways, until then I just had to have a Ron Frenz color version, voilà!

I was just grabbing for portfolio
It works that Ron reminded me of long ago
Back then I thought that inks were never color change
It used to be that Eye Brother had to feel the pain
Eye knows now that Frenz will never be the same, no

I want an Omac

Very cool. I remember buying Byrne's prestige format mini as it hit the stands and really enjoying it, but it's been so long that seeing this piece reminds me that I should revisit the series to see how well it holds up.

Wow! Fabulous commission by Ron Frenz of a color version of John Byrne's OMAC: One-Man Army Corps. I really like Ron's color choices for OMAC. He kept the colors simple but complementary. IMHO, Ron's colors enhance Byrne's strong figurework. Great commission, congrats!
