Description

Here we are, with the last of my Derec Donovan sketch cards (at least for now), featuring Ultra Boy! Derec really went all-out for this one, with a full torso shot and a super detailed space background to boot! This is definitely the most complex of my cards when it comes to variety of colour, and I love that Derec was able to keep Jo visually distinct from the background despite all the extra colour- and linework he did for this one. Jo's got a more serious expression here compared to his usual "bad boy" smirk - maybe he heard someone talking about his girlfriend Apparition in a way they shouldn't be (Marcus, I'm looking at you!).

Last one!? say it ain't so! Nice one to end on, as you pointed out the complexity and variety of colors interacting on this one especially with the celestrial bodies behind him playing off colors in his costume work really nicely on this one.

I think you gotta look out for Apparition with the fawning way you described Ultra Boy. The first thing you went to is his torso! You like them Bad Boys, huh?

Apparition's got nothing to worry about; Ultra Boy's not quite green enough for my tastes. ;)

(The bad boy thing is still up for debate, though.)
