We all have comics that stick with us over the years for some reason or other, right? I have quite a few, it seems. One of them is from a couple of years ago (possibly decades ago) - Mutant X Annual 1999.

The Mutant X series followed X-Men's Havok thrown to a parallel earth (Earth-1298 in the multiverse). This issue/annual introduced a number of interesting takes on characters. I especially liked this version of The Defenders - a hulked out Doc Samson, an interesting Doctor Strange, a pretty cool looking Stingray and a female Yellowjacket. Pasqual Ferry's designs/artwork on this was really good.

Later in the Mutant X series, most of the characters may have been killed off. The series ended with a huge battle with The Beyonder, I think. Anyway, it would be cool to somehow see more of Earth-1298 and in particular this Defenders team again somehow.

I was psyched when Pasqual agreed to take this commission of this Defenders team. Thank you Miguel for facilitating this and doing an impeccable job packing and sending it. Thank you Pasqual for creating this amazing artwork!

Stingray is classing this team up by dynamically soaring! It really speaks to show there's no limits to this Defenders team!
