ComicLink Comments: This prime era Andy Kubert page from X-Men V2 #22 (1993) features superb images of Beast, Gambit, Psylocke/Betsy Braddock and the woman she famously switched bodies with, Revanche/Kwannon. It ends with Revanche/Kwannon using her psychic katana to stab Psylocke/Betsy. Kubert had the unenviable job of following Jim Lee on X-Men, but did an incredible job on the best-selling title, illustrating the majority of the X-Men issues between #14 and #59, covering the period from 1992 to 1996. This page leads in to the long-awaited flashback showing how the body switch between Betsy and Kwannon took place. We learn that prior to being found by Matsu'o and the Hand, a post-Siege Perilous British Psylocke was found by Kwannon, Lord Nyoirin's ninja assassin. Upon physical contact, Kwannon's mind fused with Psylocke's and their minds were shuffled. After this, Matsu'o finds the Asian Kwannon, now believing herself to be Psylocke, and brainwashes her into serving the Hand as Lady Mandarin. Meanwhile, Nyoirin, in search of Kwannon, tracks down British Psylocke/Revanche, who now has Kwannon's memories as well, and nurses her back to health.
