DescriptionTerry and the Pirates was so popular that Caniff was inundated with requests for sketches. He started making prints early on. He would hand color and personalize them. There are some file copies around of uncolored prints like this one. I've been collecting these for 20 years and have quite an extensive collection of these. I thought I'd seen every print he had made until I saw this one. I had never seen this image before. It is a vintage print, unsigned and uncolored. Not sure if this might have been a military give-away or just one that didn't get much circulation. Of course, Miss Lace was very popular with GI's during WWII and was created specifically for the US Army to publish. Very happy to have found something I'd never seen before and add it to my collection. Just when you think you have seen it all, something invariably comes up.Social/Sharing |

Really cool Jeff! As for Caniff artwork, I would have definitely guessed that you had seen it all!
