DescriptionPage 3: "Thumbs-Up from the Deep" A diver in a classic bathysphere suit gives a thumbs-up — or possibly a hitchhiking gesture — from the ocean floor as a submarine cruises overhead, oblivious to his presence. Other marine life observes the scene, and a partially submerged sailor adds further comic detail. The caption is implied through gesture, with the diver acting as a humorous counterpoint to the seriousness of naval operations.
