Rick Springfield "Beautiful Feelings" Album Cover painting 1984 ** Brian Zick (MERCURY, POLYGRAM RECORDS)

"Beautiful Feelings" is the ninth studio album (originally to be the fifth) by Australian musician Rick Springfield. It was recorded in 1978. In 1984, at the height of Springfield's popularity, Mercury Records released the album with this awesome airbrush cover. Most notably the song "Bruce" is on this album which is pretty funny, just hinting at Rick's humor. The song reached No. 27 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.I was lucky to get this cover years ago from the artist who since signed it and a vinyl record album cover for me.

The cover illustration was created by artist and friend Brian Zick. Acrylic airbrush on illustration board. Signed lower right a 1984 Gem!

I have several Brian Zick artworks I plan to post and list over the next few weeks, but I wanted to start with this one. My second childhood crush was Rick Springfield (after Christopher Reeve). I've seem him a dozen plus times and he still rocks.

My favorite Rick album...Probably "Living in Oz"...
