DescriptionThis is in black and white since that was the format that made this look most like the actual piece even though it renders the blue lines gray. I bought this from Mark Texeira at SDCC 2004. He discounted it because he said it was not as polished (or words to that effect) as some other pieces. Originally, Vampi's nipples showed prominently under her costume. After I agreed to buy it, I commented that this violated my usual rule and he immediately reworked the costume to eliminate them saying that I was the first one who ever asked him to do that (actually, I hadn't but I would have if I didn't think asking an artist to change a completed piece was tacky) and they usually ask him to draw them in. He also improved the eyes, thighs and other bits. I have heard from a reliable source that this is a picture of Texeira's wife. Hubba hubba.Social/Sharing |

HAving met the uber-talented Mark at a show in Montreal, I can attest to the fact that Mark is indeed drawing pseudo-portraits of his petite, adorable wife (who's name I shamefully forget). It's always a good idea for an artist to be living with his or her favorite inspiration! It works for me...

Most definitely the same model as Texeira used for the Vampirella in my Pin-Up gallery. Nice in both color and black & white.
