DescriptionSeries: Adventures of SupermanIssue: 460 Page: 12 Year: 1989 Publisher: DC Comics Synopsis for "Be It Ever So Deadly" The Eradicator begins changing the Earth into Krypton. When Superman interferes, the Eradicator erases his memory. After experiencing headaches and hallucinations about the Eradicator, Superman goes to Antarctica to check on the device and discovers an underground fortress made out of Kryptonian technology, with a tower collecting solar energy. Inside, Superman finds two human scientists brainwashed to believe they are Kryptonians, whose purpose is to rebuild Krypton on Earth. Superman tries to communicate with the Eradicator, and he is shown images of Krypton's fifth historic epoch, learning that his ancestor Kem-L was the creator of the device. Using that knowledge, Superman commands it to stop its operations, only to be attacked and knocked unconscious by the Kryptonian robots. Then all memories about the Eradicator are erased from Superman's head. Meanwhile, Collin Thornton tries to employ Clark Kent for his weekly news magazine. Very cool as they decided to keep the look of Kryptonian tech established by Byrne. It's a great splash as Superman swoops down right to the core.
