Koi Turnbull, Terror Inc. – Uncorrected Fight Page with Correction

I don’t understand this editorial decision.

‘90s Marvel antihero Terror is recounting a time during the Black Death when he was attacked by scavengers in Spain. For the top panel, Koi’s editor told him that the arrow going into Terror’s back led viewers’ eyes off the page, or some such. They replaced it with the top image from the correction page. To me, it went from a panel reminiscent of the elaborate perspective of Michael Golden (one of Koi’s influences) to something pretty flat. What happened with the bottom panel is similar. Koi sold me both pages at the LA Comic Con this weekend. He and his wife were a pleasure to talk to and are really nice people. As soon as his wife pointed out that a Black Panther page I was thinking about buying was only headshots, I couldn’t unsee it…. A fun con.
