DescriptionCLICK HERE FOR AUCTION LISTING!20x28" original heavy illustration board contains pen and ink original art illustration for a two page spread in "Famous Fantasic Mysteries" Volume IV issue #6. October 1942 issue. Illustration by Frank R. Paul (1994-1963) who was an American illustrator of pulp magazines in the science fiction field. A discovery of editor Hugo Gernsback, Paul was influential in defining the look of both cover art and interior illustrations in the nascent science fiction pulps of the 1920s. The Science Fiction Hall of Fame inducted him in 2009. Illustration features left page with man in suit trying to catch a falling bottle in a lab while image at right shows bearded man falling into glass panel while bottles and beakers go flying into the air. Void areas at top and bottom for text for the pulp story. Storyline "The Elixer of Hate" by George Allen England. Lt. aging/wear to board. Board is double matted at 23.75x31.5" and taped to back of board. Pen and ink art is clean and ready to frame. Overall art is Exc. Social/Sharing |
