Art depicts one one of the Dick Tracy characters subset, w/hand-lettered "Pat Patten" name below art and "Copr. 1946 Famous Artists Syn." hand-lettered text along top. Lower right has penciled "2 Per" notation. Artboard has a few scattered spots but art remains clean and Exc. Back of display includes separate 4.75" square sheet of onionskin paper w/red/fleshtone colors which, when placed over the bw art, provides the colors for the finished button. Margins of this sheet are mounted w/small pieces of double-sided tape to acetate sheet that can be removed from back and placed over art. Paper has quite a few thin ripple lines w/crease along bottom edge, but these do not detract visually. Unique and historic button art. Comes w/example of the pin in custom case for display.
