Description
A gorgeous painted Nino page from a book called Space Clusters that was published as part of DC’s aborted line of original graphic novels in the early to mid 80’s. My copy of this book is still in the mail so I’ll have to update the page number once it gets here but from what I’ve found online it might be one of the most beautifully illustrated comics I’ve ever seen. Absolutely stunning pages throughout and while I generally prefer b+w comic artwork Nino’s color choices are quite striking. I hope one day DC gets it together to produce collections of the work of some of the brilliant artists like Nino that contributed to the company’s legacy through short works in their anthology titles that are almost never reprinted. If works like Space Clusters were still readily available I have no doubt Nino would be up there with Moebius and others as one of the best to ever do it.

It's 1986, but the Nino artwork also had old adventure strip feel of sensuous sexy sci-fi!  More cutting edge and mature for Marvel and American comics audiences taking this first step than for the rest of the world.
