Description
I'm very glad to add another Dick Moores Sunday page to the collection. This Gasoline Alley page is from January 18, 1976, and features Sugar the bear and Mrs. Cream. I first encountered these characters in the 1976 Avon Book reprint of Dick's work and was charmed by the story. This story line came after the one that appeared in the book, and you can really see how much Dick loved drawing the cute critter. His work still amazes me, in terms of composition and drawing. There are very few cartoonists who could move the camera around with such seeming ease. I love the worm's-eye view shots from the floorboard, like in the second-to-last panel Sweet, sweet stuff.

Really nice how Moores separates the backgrounds and foreground.  This is his 20th year on the strip with plenty of gas in the tank.  He followed a great tradition of King and Perry in keeping this long running strip vibrant and fresh for the times.

Quite unspectacular at first sight, but when you look more closely, you realize that a true master was at work here.
