Description

From the first issue of a recent Namor mini-series, written by Jason Aaron, we find Namor serving out a voluntary prison sentence to atone for his sins. One day, a gang of Atlantean thugs break IN to the prison and attempt to take out the exiled king. Unfortunately for them, Namor goes full Imperious Rex on their asses, though he gets knocked out in the encounter. Upon waking up in the prison infirmary, who should Namor find waiting for him but the Aquatic Avenger himself, Stingray!!! The good doctor is the bearer of bad news, alerting Namor to the fact that seven pretenders to the throne of Atlantis that he may want to do something about.

This first page in the sequence shows Namor waking up to Stingray in his room. The second panel with the full body shot of Stingray is glorious. Hands on hips, he's letting Namor know "We need to talk", even without the word balloons. The ink work here is smooth and superb, giving us some rich, deep shadows. The small detail like Namor's shackle, and the character acting really sell this "talky" page.

Does Stingray ever take his mask off or is he like the Mandalorian? How do the nurses let him in to see Prince Namor without ID?
