Wilhelm (William/Bill) Juhre had a long career in illustration and comics but doesn't get much in the way of name recognition. He should also be recognized for this service in the US military. At 14 he lied on his application and was sent to Europe in World War I (not II). He was injured 3 times including by machine gun bullets, shrapnel and mustard gas having survived 5 major battles. He returned a hero and veteran at the age of 16! His comic strip worked included stints on Tarzan, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers and the Lone Ranger. Sometimes he was credited and others he was assisting. He lived to 73 and had worked on several dozen comic strip and for various agencies and Newspapers over his long career.
