Dampyr #104 (2008) pages 64-65: Tied up (NSFW)

Hanneke is acting weird: “Don't you also feel the burning wind blowing up from the depths of hell on your skin? And don't you smell the warm blood lapping at those black walls? You should appreciate it, the blood...”

(Tesla) “Hanneke! Are you mad or...?”

“Hiss!”

“Ah! Who the devil are you?”

(Prince Arioch) “Lady Druj is our faithful subject. You too owe us obedience, dark daughter of the night. Kneel before us, vampiress, and kiss the hem of our august cloak!”

“Forget it!”

(The snake screams as Tesla chops its head off.) “Yyiii...”

(Tesla dodges Arioch's sword stroke but then struggles in the bonds of Lady Druj's hair.) “Crap! Unnnh!”

“I've got her! Strike, Prince Arioch!”

“My collection of severed heads is only missing that of a vampiress...”

The Italian language has male and female variants of many words, including "vampiro/vampira." Often the distinction is not worth translating into English, but in this story, the plot hinges on Tesla being specifically a female vampire, so I am using "vampiress" whenever that happens.

Some of the sound effects are rendered in white paint on top of the black background. Arioch makes a memorable figure with his hair a nest of asps, huge nipple rings, spiky boots, and his bush of axillary hair. His giant cleaver has a distinctive hook. Druj's hair power has a liability, in that it tends to obscure her own vision when she fights someone in front of her.
