Frankenstein’s Monster

12.5” x 16”

Mixed Media on Arches…but mostly acrylic

Fun times painting for Slam Press Tomes again but for Frankenstein: Visions. My quote was “if I cannot inspire love, I will cause fear…” I feel like this was a close-up moment and a sort of tragic part of this book. I figure, this guy always looks angry so what if we just give him a little liquid sadness coming from his eye. It might be hard to notice because of the other shiny parts of his skin, but there’s a little tear there. This dude just wants Frankenstein to dig up some more dead bodies and “it’s alive!” it and presto, a wife.

Surprisingly, this was one of the images used for the promo coffee grind packaging and then it’s also available as a variant cover too.
