Robert Signed in his RARE full signature with an arrow heading up bottom left in 1997, knowing his time with us was very limited. He succumbed to brain cancer January 1998. Exact title unknown, but right before his passing he did several of this young lady Gina as commissions (I own one of the oils as well) and I am told she lived in San Luis Obispo.
One of my all time favorite artists I collect is late Robert D. Blue. He could do it all. Oil, Acrylic, Pencils, Watercolor, Marker, inks .. Any medium and while he focused on pinup art he also did fetish comics. (Hustler and more). And yes he did great feet, LOL.
Many of you may not know or remember Blue, but Bettie Page personally credited him as the first of three artist that brought her career back. I am sure you know the other two easily, The amazing Olivia de Berardinis and of course you all know Dave Stevens.
In fact, Robert D. Blue was painting Bettie in the 70s and Bettie sought him out to create art specifically of her and those cavnases, prints and metal signs are highly sought after. In 1984, a film was loosely based on his life called "Hearbreakers" with Peter Coyote playing Blue.
