Sweet Kubert House of Mystery cover! What could be more satisfying than plugging a big hole in your collection!? But wait...your last post was also a Joe Kubert cover!? which one plugged the hole first? Or is the hole so big it needed 2 covers to fill it!? I completely lost my train of thought now.
Maybe Burkey had a 2 for 1 special! 😆
Well I wanted a Kubert that fell squarely in the DC Mystery titles. I actually have not seen that many non-War (including Weird War) Kubert covers on the market in the past few years (or I missed them). The sci-fi cover I got because it was a fun cover, regarless of the artist!

No matter what genre Joe Kubert works in, the human drama is front and center. In this alien and monster genre, the look of fear grabs us before we gravitate toward the creature design.
The thing is, Joe Kubert always drew his ass off no matter what genre he was working in. It's one of the many reasons I've always adored his work. No matter what he was drawing, it always looked amazing. This is a nice example of that!
