Description
This is an illustration if Mary marvelas she would appear on a faux cover of wow comics. Wow comics was published by Fawcett comics (1940-1946) it featured solo adventures of Mary marvel. Mary was created by Otto binder and Marc swayze and made her first appearence in captain marvel adventures 18 done by butch guice. This piece was done in graphite and measures 11x14 it shows Mary as the all American girl playing American's past time.

Don't hang one over the center of the plate or else Mary Marvel will go yard on ya! Gorgeous Guice illustration with his intricate and highly detailed penciling. great piece congrats and Happy New Year, Brian!

Never would have guessed Butch Guice at first glance.  This is more like what Alex Ross does to frame classic heroes doing classic things in a photo realistic manner.  More than A League of their Own, I liken this to Kathy Ireland at the plate in Necessary Roiughness.

That captures so much of the innocence and wholesomeness of those Wow Comics covers. The technique is fabulous.
