Description

This was the description via Heritage:
Tele-comics RARE "Danny March" ASIFA-Hollywood Fund-Raising Production Drawing Setup with Animation Drawing (NBC Comics, c. 1949-51). "Danny March, private arm of the law and his crusade against crime!" Peering at the evidence in this pair of diligent production artwork is the private eye, Danny March, from the rare television series Tele-comics. Produced by Dick Moores and Jack Boyd, this syndicated black-and-white film series was distributed beginning in 1949, presenting the adventures of "Joey and Jug," "Sa-Lih," "Brother Goose," and "Rick Rack, Special Agent." After the series was picked up for network telecasts as NBC Comics, four new features were created in serialized three-minute episodes for the fifteen-minute program including "Danny March," "Kid Champion," "Space Barton," and "Johnny and Mr. Do-Right". Only a portion of the series footage has been archived, and surviving production artwork is exceedingly rare to find! This production drawing was hand-crafted in ink and grayscale gouache on delicately trimmed sheets of paper. This piece was originally sold in a fund-raising auction to benefit the International Animated Film Society's ASIFA-Hollywood chapter and bears a ASIFA CoA on the back of the mat. The production drawing is presented in an 18" x 14" mat display with a viewing window of 11" x 7" with a 12" x 8" rough animation drawing affixed to the back. The ASIFA mat has some handling and edge wear. In Very Good condition with minor handling wear.
