Descriptioni just went through my copy of the new Art of Daniel Warren Johnson this weekend and it reminded me i never posted this one. i have the art tucked away so i'm using the one with a watermark from the receipt from felix -- hope that's ok. but i remember loving this book and waiting for the right page to buy. they were selling well but there was a decent amount of inventory and i figured i would just wait for the perfect page. well, issue 4's art dropped and i noticed the hand lettering was gone and i am a huge fan of hand lettered art. so i reached out to Felix's crew and they mentioned the art would no longer be hand lettered. so at that point i went through all the art left and picked my favorite from the batch. and honestly, its a great page! the van, a monster, the main characters -- all there! and most importantly -- the feel of a great DWJ page is all here. after reading his notes in his art book i think i appreciate this page even more now. i think he is our modern master comic creator. and every time i've met him he's been super humble and cool about his success. can't wait to see what he does next!also, reminder that DWJ puts up music for free on bandcamp -- and good music too! https://brooticus.bandcamp.com/ Social/Sharing |

Awesome page! You're right, full cast plus van is the way to go. Hand lettering for the win. Thanks for sharing.

A great era of DWJ's art! The chase scene is so fluid with his flowing brushwork. This van will show up again in Transformers!
